Good people, its been a while, but of course I'm back in dire need of help. Does anyone out here NOT vote? Do you know anyone who is adamant and has strong views? |
More importantly would you or they be willing to let me interview you? This is for a 4 minute human interest piece I am putting together if you or anyone you know would be willing to talk to me.
Lastly, if neither of those apply to you please take my poll:
In what area of the world do you currently live?
Do you vote in major presidential elections?
I have but not consistently
Are you registered to vote?
Do you consider yourself patriotic?
Are you more inclined to vote since the nation is engaged in an upopular war?
Do you trust elected offficials?
Some can be trusted, some can't.
Do you believe most politicians are out to serve the public?
Some are, some are not.
At the present moment, what is your number one beef with the federal government?
Why do you believe the majority of young Americans choose not to participate in the political process?
As a libertarian, my highest political value is non-aggression. Voting is about the democratic process, and all democracy does is put a pretty face on majority rule, which is ultimately aggression against individual rights (life, liberty, property, free association, etc.). That applies to every democracy that has ever existed, including the one we have here in the USA. I do not support the principle of anyone ruling over anyone else, whether it is one person (monarchy), a small group (oligarchy) or a popular majority (democracy). Therefore, I will not vote.
